The check box is the part people skip
A non-invasive meter does not announce when it has been knocked out of true — it keeps producing plausible numbers. The only way to know is to put it on a known reference. Doing that at the start of a job, and recording it, is what turns a reading into evidence.
Which calibration check suits which meter

Impedance meters and RH probes are checked differently. An impedance meter is verified against a reference box or plate of known value; an RH probe is verified in a sealed salt chamber at a known humidity. One does not substitute for the other, and a meter that takes RH probes needs both.
