T-Rust removes stubborn rust stains without a strong mineral acid and needs no neutralising.
It requires no neutralising and you can rinse it with clear water. Simply apply it directly to the rust and in a few seconds, you'll see it start to disappear.

Choosing a spotter by stain type
Spotting failures are almost always a chemistry mismatch, not a technique problem. The pH of the spotter has to suit what you are removing.
| Stain | Chemistry | Product |
| Protein — blood, milk, vomit, egg, food | Alkaline, pH 10.5 | Protein Spotter |
| Rust | Acidic, pH 4.5, no neutralising needed | T-Rust |
| Coffee and tea | Acidic, pH 4–4.5, applied hot | Coffee Stain Remover |
| Red food dye, cordial, sports drink | Neutral, pH 7–7.5 | Red Zone Ready |
| Mixed or unknown organic and synthetic dyes | Oxidising system | Stain Zone |
| Chewing gum, tar, oily spots | Citrus solvent gel | Gel Break |
| General purpose, wide range | Solvent-based | Avenge Stain Remover |
Finish with a residue rinse. Professional-strength spotters leave residue that attracts soil and can wick back. Spot Stop neutralises alkaline residue and lays down an encapsulating polymer, which is what stops the mark reappearing a week later.
Frequently asked questions
Why did the spot come back?
Two usual causes. Either contamination remains below the surface and has wicked back up as the carpet dried, or spotter residue has been left in the pile and is attracting soil. A residue rinse with Spot Stop addresses the second; the first needs proper extraction of the affected area.
Can I use an alkaline spotter on any stain?
No. Alkaline spotters suit protein. On rust or coffee they achieve nothing and can set the stain. Match the chemistry to the stain — see the table above.
Do I need to neutralise after spotting?
After alkaline spotters, yes. T-Rust is the exception — Bridgepoint state it requires no neutralising and rinses with clear water. In general, leaving a professional-strength spotter in the pile without rinsing creates a resoiling problem where you solved a stain problem.
Will these damage wool or natural fibre?
Check the label before use. Several of the oxidising products are specified for synthetic carpet and fabrics only and are not recommended for natural fibres. Test in an inconspicuous area on anything you have not treated before.
Is the documentation Australian?
The safety data sheet is the Australian edition, issued by Aberford Holdings Pty Ltd (Carpet Cleaners Warehouse) as the Australian importer and classified to Australian GHS and ADG requirements. The label, specification sheet and cleaning guide are Bridgepoint’s United States editions, provided for technical reference; the Australian SDS takes precedence where they differ.

Safety
- Classified as a hazardous chemical, signal word Danger: causes severe skin burns and eye damage, is toxic in contact with skin and harmful if swallowed. It contains ammonium bifluoride, a fluoride compound that is absorbed through the skin. Fluoride burns can be delayed and are more serious than they look.
- Wear gauntlet-length chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile at least 0.4 mm, neoprene or butyl), chemical goggles and a face shield. Do not rely on thin disposable gloves.
- Keep 2.5% calcium gluconate gel where this product is used. On any skin contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes, apply the gel and get medical attention immediately, even if there is no pain. For poisons advice, call 13 11 26.
- Do not use on glass, glazed tiles, polished stone or aluminium. Do not mix with other chemicals. Do not store or decant into glass or metal containers.
- Dangerous goods for transport: Class 8 corrosive, UN 3264, Packing Group II.
Read the safety data sheet before first use.
