It is mounted on L bracket 10-0301 and connected with Oetiker clamps (10-0435), fed through a 1/8 inch strainer (10-0845-2).
Before you replace the pump
A spotter that will not spray is not always a failed pump. Work through the cheap causes first:
- The strainer (10-0845-2). A 1/8 inch strainer blocks with very little debris, and a blocked strainer starves the pump. This is the single most common cause.
- The solution tank and pick-up. Empty tank, or a pick-up sitting above the remaining solution.
- The switch (10-0025). Two switches are fitted; if the vacuum works and the pump does not, suspect the switch before the pump.
- Air lock. A pump run dry may need priming.
Running a diaphragm pump dry is what kills them. If a machine has been run with an empty tank — and on a spotter that happens — the pump may already be damaged even if it primes again.
Maintenance that actually extends pump life
Flush clean water through the system at the end of the day. Spotting chemistry left standing in a pump is what hardens the diaphragm and the valves, and that is the failure most spotter pumps die of rather than hours.
Clean the strainer at the same time. It takes seconds and it is the part protecting the pump.
Sandia's stated warranty on this machine
From the manual: lifetime on moulded components, five years on the vacuum motor, five years on the pump, and five years on all electrical components. That is the manufacturer's stated position — check with us before assuming a part is covered, because normal wear items and damage from neglect or abuse are excluded.
