Electrical work is not a field repair
A terminal strip is inside the machine and carries mains voltage. In Australia, work on the electrical side of a 230 V appliance is licensed work. Order the part if you have a qualified person doing the job; if you do not, send the machine in rather than open it.
Identifying the right part
Fasteners and small components change between production runs, and the part on your machine may not match the current drawing. Measure what you are replacing, or photograph it against a ruler, and send that with your model and serial number. It takes a minute and it saves an order that does not fit.

Fitting It Safely
- Disconnect the machine from the mains before it is opened.
- Photograph the wiring and label each conductor before anything is disconnected, so every wire goes back to the same terminal.
- Check the new strip matches the old one: same number of ways, same mounting and suitable for the same conductors.
- Tighten every terminal screw and tug-test each conductor. A loose terminal runs hot.
- The work should be done by a licensed electrician or qualified technician, with earth continuity and insulation resistance tests before the machine goes back into service.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do terminal strips fail?
Most often from heat at a loose connection, vibration, or moisture getting inside the machine. Discoloured or melted plastic around one terminal usually means that connection was loose — find the cause before fitting the new strip, or it will happen again.
Is the earth screw included?
No. The grounding terminal box screw is listed separately as HOS1032. Check it while the machine is open.
