This one is a safety part
It is a screw, and it is the screw that holds the earth. A loose or missing earth connection on a 230 V machine is not a cosmetic fault. If this screw is missing, do not run the machine until it has been replaced and the earth continuity checked by a qualified person.
Identifying the right part
Fasteners and small components change between production runs, and the part on your machine may not match the current drawing. Fitting It Safely
- Remove the plug from the outlet before opening the terminal box.
- Clean the earth terminal and contact faces so the connection is metal to metal.
- Capture the earth conductor correctly under the screw and tighten it firmly.
- Repairs to mains-connected equipment should be done by a licensed electrician or qualified service technician, and the machine tested (earth continuity and insulation resistance) before it goes back into service.

Can I use any screw of the same size?
Only if the thread and length match the original. A screw with the wrong thread or length can leave the earth connection loose. Use the correct part, and if in doubt send us a photograph against a ruler.
The machine still runs without it. Does it matter?
Yes. A machine runs normally with no earth. The earth only does its job when a fault occurs, which is exactly when it protects the operator. Have it repaired and tested before the machine is used again.
