Where It Fits in the Job
Sealing is the last step of hard water removal. Once the mineral deposits are polished off and the glass or stone is clean and dry, a sealer slows new mineral build-up. An even, thin coat matters: too much sealer leaves streaks and residue that has to be buffed off.
- Remove the hard water stains and rinse off all polishing residue.
- Let the surface dry completely.
- Apply the sealer as its label directs, using the applicator (instructions below).
- Remove excess sealer as the sealer label directs.
- Clean the applicator straight away.
Instructions
Either apply sealer directly to the surface and spread with the Styrofoam applicator or add a sealer to the Nylafoam backing on the tool and spread on the surface. Rinse with water after use. This will lengthen the life of the sealer applicator.
Important: Clean It After Every Use
Rinse thoroughly with soap and water after use. Otherwise, the glue used to adhere the foam to the Styrofoam block will dissolve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are replacement pads included?
Mr Hard Water now sell a Sealer Applicator Kit (SEAL-301) that includes the applicator and 4 replacement pads. CCW lists this item as SEAL-300; confirm with us whether replacement pads are included in the pack you receive.
Which sealer should I use?
Mr Hard Water recommend it for their Protective Sealant and for Stone Pro granite and marble sealers. Neither sealer is currently listed online — ask us. Always follow the sealer's own label for surface preparation, coverage and cure time.
Can I use it with solvent-based sealers?
Not confirmed. The foam is mounted on a Styrofoam block, and some solvents attack polystyrene. Test a small amount of your sealer on the edge of the block first, or ask us.
Why has the foam come off the block?
Sealer left on the applicator dissolves the glue. Rinse with soap and water straight after use.
