Why a Dedicated Polisher
Hard water removal needs controlled speed, steady light pressure and a tool you can hold square to vertical glass for long periods. Angle grinders and sanders run too fast and cut rather than polish; auto buffers are built for paint, not glass. The bail handle lets you hold the pad flat on a shower screen, and the variable speed dial lets you start slow while the slurry spreads.
Recommended Usage
This tool is ideal for hard water removal. Do not try angle grinders, auto buffers, or sanders.
CAUTION: Always observe safety procedures when working with power tools and wear protective eyewear. GFCI breakers are sold separately. To be used only with Mr. Hard Water™ Powder – a 100% acid/chemical free, super-fine hard water removal powder. Other cleaning powders may scratch. Best when used with Nylon Pads and Steel Wool Pads. The pads are soft enough not to scratch and tough enough to remove hard water stains and dirt.
Mr Hard Water also list their Liquid Glass Polish for use with this polisher. Mr Hard Water powder, liquid polish and pads are not currently listed online — ask us before you book the job.
Electrical Safety in Australia
- A GFCI is the US term for a residual current device (RCD). Plug the polisher into an RCD-protected outlet or use a portable RCD — you are working with water around mains power.
- Keep the cord and plug out of the wet area and away from slurry.
- Check the cord and plug before each job and have the tool tested and tagged as your site or company requires.
- Mr Hard Water sell the polisher in a 110 V (USA) and a 240 V (Europe) version. CCW lists this unit as 240 V; plug type and Australian electrical approval are being confirmed — ask us before you order if your site requires RCM-marked equipment.
Operating Advice
- Test on a small, low corner of the glass first. Some coated or tinted glass cannot be polished without marking.
- Mask off seals, frames and fittings, and protect the floor from slurry.
- Fit the pad to the hook-and-loop backing plate, centred.
- Start at low speed with the pad on the glass so slurry does not spin off.
- Keep the pad flat and moving, with light pressure. Keep the surface wet — heat damages glass.
- Rinse and check your progress often under good light.
- Seal the glass once clean and dry — see the sealer applicator.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it on stone?
CCW's listing says it is ideal for granite and marble polishing. Stone polishing uses different pads and compounds from glass; test first and follow the stone compound maker's directions. The Mr Hard Water glass powder is sold for glass.
Can I use a drill instead?
For small jobs, yes — see the drill adaptor. For regular work the polisher is easier to control on vertical glass.
Why only Mr Hard Water powder?
Mr Hard Water warn that other cleaning powders may scratch. The powder, pad and speed work together; changing one changes the result.
What are the extra bushings for?
Mr Hard Water include them as spares. Their fitting instructions are not on file — ask us before replacing them.
