Over the years INOX MX3 has become known as the “Supreme Lubricant” and the go-to product when the highest of quality is needed.
The special MX3 anti-corrosion, anti-moisture formula is now sought after all around the globe, and INOX describes it as one of the leading lubricants in the world today. MX3 is made by Candan Industries in Loganholme, Queensland, the Australian company behind the INOX range.
INOX lists it for almost every market, including automotive, aviation, commercial, domestic, electrical and electronics, engineering, farming and mining, firearms, fishing, hobbies, manufacturing, marine, motorcycles, sports and transport.
Where It Fits in a Cleaning Business
In a carpet cleaning or restoration business MX3 is a general workshop and van lubricant: a light penetrating oil that displaces moisture and leaves a protective film on metal. Typical uses are hinges and latches, wheel axles on portables and trolleys, hose-reel bearings and swivels on metal parts, tool holders, and any exposed steel that lives in a damp van.
It is not a grease, and it is not the right product for rubber O-rings. For O-rings and seals on wand valves, quick-connects and pump fittings, use INOX MX6 Rubber Grease, which INOX formulates to be safe on rubber.
Why MX3?

- INOX-mx3 will not harm metal points or surfaces, plastics, paints, enamels, fibreglass, formica or neoprene seals.

- INOX-mx3 is non-conductive, non-static, non-toxic, non-corrosive and non-staining.
These are INOX’s own descriptions. INOX quotes a dielectric strength of more than 40 for MX3.
Important: Rubber and Soft Plastics
Caution: INOX may affect some natural rubber products with continual long-term use. INOX’s current wording extends this to soft thin plastics such as LDPE with repetitive long-term use. Keep MX3 off rubber seals, drive belts, hose covers and soft plastic parts. Use MX6 on seals instead.
The INOX Finger Test
This is a very simple test you can use to show the quality and durability of INOX Lubricant. On the first finger of one hand, spray a good quality dewatering fluid, and rub the finger and thumb together vigorously. On the first finger of your other hand, spray INOX. Rub the finger and thumb together the same way. After about 20 to 30 seconds, the finger that has been sprayed with the other product will begin to lose its lubricating ability, whereas the finger that has been sprayed with INOX will continue to stay wet and slippery.
Safety and Storage
The aerosol is a pressurised container of flammable propellant. INOX’s Australian safety data sheet classifies INOX-mx3 Aerosol as a flammable aerosol (H223) and a pressurised container that may burst if heated (H229), and lists it as dangerous goods for transport: UN 1950 Aerosols, Class 2.1. The SDS finds no other significant risk factors for the product.
- Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame, and do not spray onto hot engine or motor parts.
- Use in a well-ventilated area. Isolate electrical equipment before spraying it, even though the product is non-conductive once the propellant has gone.
- Wear gloves and eye protection, as the SDS recommends.
- Store below 30 °C and out of direct sunlight. Do not leave cans on the dashboard or in a closed van in summer — the SDS says the can must not exceed 50 °C.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use MX3 on wand valve and quick-connect O-rings?
We recommend MX6 for any rubber seal. INOX cautions that MX3 may affect some natural rubber with long-term use, while MX6 is formulated to be safe on rubber.
Is it safe on electrical parts?
INOX describes MX3 as non-conductive and lists electrical and electronics uses. Always isolate the equipment first and let the propellant disperse before power is restored, because the propellant is flammable.
Does it contain silicone?
No. INOX states MX3 contains no silicone, acid, kerosene or dieselene.
Can I send it by air freight?
