The cheap filter that protects the expensive one
A pre-filter takes the coarse load — dust, insulation fibre, debris pulled out of the cavity — before it reaches the HEPA filter. Skipping pre-filters does not save money; it transfers the loading onto a filter that costs many times more.
Sold in tens because on an active job they are changed often. Check them daily on a dusty loss.
