Important — the hammer electrodes take a different cable
This assembly fits the 26-ES and 26-ED only. Every other standard Delmhorst electrode uses the 315CAB-0025 cable assembly. The two are not interchangeable, so check which electrode you are repairing before ordering.
Why the cable fails first
On a slide hammer the cable takes a shock load on every drive and is repeatedly coiled and dragged. The usual failure is at the strain relief, and it shows up as readings that jump or drop out when the lead is moved. If a meter reads erratically only with the hammer electrode connected, suspect the cable before the meter.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know the cable is the problem?
Intermittent or wildly fluctuating readings that change when you move the lead. Coaxial leads on hammer electrodes fail at the strain relief because that is where the flexing concentrates.
Does it come ready to fit?
Yes — supplied with the RF connector and strain relief already fitted, so it is a replacement rather than a repair.
Will it fit the 26-ED as well?
Yes. The same assembly serves the 26-ES slide hammer and the 26-ED with depth gauge.
