Hammer electrode with depth gauge
The same insulated-pin hammer electrode as the 26-ES, with a depth gauge added so you can see exactly how far the pins have been driven.
When the gauge earns its keep
If you are recording a moisture gradient — 6 mm, 12 mm, 25 mm — the numbers are only comparable if the depths are. Judging depth by feel is fine for a go/no-go check and not good enough for a document someone else will rely on. Kiln operators, flooring inspectors and anyone writing a drying report benefit from the gauge; a technician doing quick checks generally does not.
Fitment
- Connects to any Delmhorst meter with an external electrode socket
- Supplied with 496 insulated contact pins — 1 1/8 inch (28.6 mm) penetration
- Also accepts 1849 insulated pins and A-111 uninsulated pins
- Uses the 315CAB-0001 cable assembly

Is the electrical performance any different to the 26-ES?
No. Same pins, same penetration, same readings. The gauge is the only difference.
Which pins for flooring?
The 1849 at 1/2 inch. The 496 can pass through a board and read the subfloor.
