Overview
Replacement clear housing, complete with glide, for the Sapphire Scientific Clear-View Upholstery Pro (AW59). Sapphire part number S13-016S567, also catalogued as Legend Brands 106991.
This is the complete cover assembly, not the cover alone — the glide is supplied with it.
Why the housing matters
On an upholstery tool the clear cover does two jobs. It lets the operator see the fabric and the recovered water as it comes off, which is how you judge when a section is clean and when it is dry enough to stop. And with the glide it forms the sealing face against the fabric.
A cracked, crazed or clouded housing costs you both. You lose the view, and once a crack opens up you lose vacuum through it — which shows up as fabric staying wetter than it should, the exact fault an upholstery tool exists to avoid.
When to replace it
- Cracked or chipped — replace it. A crack in the cover is a vacuum leak.
- Clouded or crazed so the fabric is no longer clearly visible.
- Glide face worn, scratched or plugged, since the glide comes with this assembly.
- Sealing edge distorted after a drop or a knock.
Housing, glide or manifold?
Three different parts on this tool are easy to confuse, and ordering the wrong one means taking the tool apart twice:
- S13-016S567 — this part. The complete clear housing including the glide.
- S13-01705 — the glide and O-ring kit on its own. CCW does not stock it as a separate line; this complete housing is the stocked route to a new glide.
- S13-01684 — the acetal manifold, a different part again.
Fitting advice
Sapphire's procedure for the cover is short: remove the four cover screws and lift the old cover off, then fit the replacement and refit the screws.
Tighten the screws evenly rather than one at a time, so the cover seats square. A cover pulled down unevenly can distort enough to leak air at one corner, which is difficult to diagnose afterwards because nothing looks wrong.
Check the sealing edge is clean before the new housing goes on.
Frequently asked questions
Does it come with the glide?
Yes. This is the complete housing assembly and the glide is included.
My glide is worn but the cover is fine. What do I order?
The glide is supplied as part of this assembly. Sapphire also list the glide and O-ring separately as S13-01705, which CCW does not stock as its own line — talk to us and we will work out which route suits your tool.
Which tool does it fit?
The Sapphire Scientific Clear-View Upholstery Pro, AW59.
Is this the same as the manifold?
No. The manifold is S13-01684, a separate acetal part inside the tool.
Why has my tool lost suction with no visible damage?
Check the sealing edge and the glide before anything else, and check the cover screws are even and tight. A seal that is not seating produces a loss of recovery with nothing obviously broken to look at.
If you are not sure whether you need the housing, the glide or the manifold, send us a photograph of the tool and we will identify the part before you order.
