We've been selling the Rota-Brush for several years. It's been a popular brush for upholstery and carpet spot cleaning. However, the bristles of those brushes required breaking-in because they were a touch too firm.
We now have a Rota Brush with softer bristles: the Rota-Brush Plush. This brush is ideal for upholstery cleaning without a need to break in the bristles. As always use discretion, you'll still want to be cautious working on very delicate textiles. But for the lion's share of upholstery, the Rota-Brush Plush does the job well. Attach this brush to any drill for brushing upholstery, carpet spot cleaning, and stair scrubbing. It's an especially useful tool for high production upholstery cleaning.
- Gentle bristles - does not require "breaking-in"
- Attach to any cordless or corded drill
- Sufficiently gentle for durable upholstery
- Effective for spot cleaning/scrubbing
- Encap scrubbing carpet in tight areas
- Handy for stair and step cleaning (including the bullnose)
What It Is For
A drill brush replaces hand brushing where you need consistent agitation over a lot of fabric: lounge suites, office seating, stair runners and spots in carpet. The drill does the work, so agitation is even and fast, and your wrists last the day.
Use it to work a pre-spray or encap solution into the fibre before extraction or drying. It is not a replacement for a soft hand brush on delicate fabrics — for those, use a horsehair brush.
Protect the Fabric
NOTE: We recommend using caution whenever working with an item that is delicate or exhibits unpredictable durability. Always test upholstery or carpet in an inconspicuous section to confirm that the fibre can withstand scrubbing. Using a variable speed drill at a lower speed setting, and/or with light head pressure, may also help to reduce possible damage.
- Keep the brush moving. Holding it in one spot concentrates friction on the fibres.
- Let the bristle tips do the work rather than pressing the brush flat.
- Take extra care on velvet, chenille, loose weaves, piping and seams.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the Plush different from the original Rota-Brush?
The original Rota-Brush bristles were a touch too firm and needed breaking in. The Plush has softer bristles and is ready for upholstery out of the box. (A US supplier listing still carries break-in wording, which appears to refer to the original brush.)
Will it fit my drill?
It attaches to any cordless or corded drill.
Can I use it on carpet?
Yes — for spot cleaning, encap scrubbing in tight areas, and stairs including the bullnose. For larger stair areas with a pad, see the Rota Drill 8 Inch Encap Pad Driver.
Is it safe on all upholstery?
It is sufficiently gentle for durable upholstery. Delicate or unpredictable fabrics need a test first, and some are better hand-brushed.
