Important: Seal Kit or Valve Kit?
CCW lists two Hypro 2220B kits. This one (SV3496, Hypro 3430-0501) is the plunger seal kit. The other listing, Hypro 3430-0506 (SV3495), is the valve kit — Hypro's parts list describes 3430-0506 as 4 valve assemblies and 4 O-rings. If the pump leaks from the weep hole, you need seals. If it has lost pressure or pulses with dry seals, the valves are the usual suspect.

Hypro's PowerLine Plus parts list (Form L-0500PL) lists the 3430-0501 Viton plunger seal kit for models 2220B-P, 2221B-P, 2230B-P and 2231B-P. Check the model plate on your pump before ordering.
Viton, and why that matters
Viton handles higher temperatures and a wider chemical range than nitrile. On a machine running hot solution, or chemistry that would attack a standard seal, Viton is what makes the service interval reasonable rather than constant.
The seal is not the only limit. Hypro rates the PowerLine Plus 2200 series pump for a maximum fluid temperature of 160 °F (about 71 °C). Viton seals do not raise the pump's rating.
Do the whole set
The kit contains U-cups, O-rings, seal rings and backup rings because they wear together. Replacing only the one that failed leaves you doing the job again shortly afterwards.
When to Replace the Seals
Hypro's manual says to replace the plunger seals if water leaks from the weep hole. Do not wait for the leak to become a stream — worn seals can let water past towards the crankcase, which turns a seal kit into a bigger repair.
Fitting Notes

- Isolate the machine and release all pressure in the system before you start.
- Remove the cylinder head (Hypro specifies a 3/16 in Allen key).
- Remove the cup retainers, high-pressure cups and support rings from the plungers.
- Inspect the ceramic plungers. Hypro says to replace any plunger with nicks or scratches — a scored plunger destroys new seals quickly. The plunger kit is Hypro 3430-0514 (not listed by CCW, ask us).
- Fit the new seals in the order and orientation shown in the manual (cups groove-down).
- Refit the head and torque the head bolts to 105–115 in·lb (about 11.9–13 N·m).
- Run the pump and check for leaks before returning the machine to work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this listed as a "water seal kit"?
That is CCW's legacy name. Hypro calls 3430-0501 a plunger seal kit (Viton).
Does it fit other Hypro pumps?
Hypro lists it for the PowerLine Plus 2220B-P, 2221B-P, 2230B-P and 2231B-P. For any other Hypro pump, send us the model plate details.
Viton or standard Buna-N?
Viton for hot solution or aggressive chemistry. Buna-N (3430-0505) is Hypro's standard seal.
Should I change the valves at the same time?
Not automatically. Change them if the pump has lost pressure or pulses. If the head is off anyway and the pump has high hours, inspecting the valves then saves a second teardown.
