Why depth consistency decides the survey
In-situ relative humidity standards specify test depth as a proportion of slab thickness, because moisture in a slab varies with depth. Holes drilled to different depths produce readings that cannot be compared with each other, and a survey of twenty locations drilled by eye is twenty separate measurements rather than one picture of the floor.
The collar is a small part that makes the difference between a defensible survey and a set of numbers.
Tightening the collar requires the 5/32 inch hex key. The matching bit is the 3/4 inch masonry bit.
