Product Overview
Replacement hard boot for the current-generation Gekko heads.
The boot is the wearing face of the tool — the part that runs against the tile and takes the abrasion. Replacing it restores the glide and the seal without touching the head itself.
Important — AW17A and AW17 Are Different Parts
These are not two revisions of the same boot. They belong to the two Gekko generations, which are not cross-compatible.
- AW17A — this part. Fits the current AR51D Gekko head and the AR53 Gekko hand tool.
- AW17 — the older boot, for the AR52, AR54 and AR54D generation.
CCW's "New Style" in the title is meaningful, not decorative. If you are running older Gekko tooling, this is the wrong boot.
Size
Published sizes for this boot disagree across sources — 4 inch, 4.5 inch and 5 inch all appear. We are not going to print a dimension we cannot stand behind. Order by your head model, or send us a photo and we will match it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size is it?
4 inch ID, 5 inch OD. Useful if you are measuring a boot you already have off the tool, but it is not how to choose one. Published figures for this part range from 4 to 5 inches because some sources quote the inside diameter and some the outside, which is exactly why measuring is the wrong test. Select by tool, not by measurement — AW17A for the AR51D head and the AR53 hand tool, AW17 for the AR52, AR54 and AR54D.
Will it fit my older Gekko?
No. Older AR52/AR54 heads take AW17.
How do I know which generation I have?
The head part number is the reliable way. If you do not have it, send us a photo of the head and we will identify it.
What does the boot do?
It is the wearing face that runs on the tile. A worn boot glides badly and seals badly.
Is it just the plastic?
Yes — this is the plastic boot only.

What We See in the Field
Gekko boots are wear parts because they are the surface that gets dragged over grout edges, thresholds and rough tile all day. When the tool starts scratching, catching or losing its smooth seal, inspect the boot instead of compensating with more pressure on the handle.
Send us a photo of your Gekko head and we will confirm which boot you need before you order.
