Rocker Switch 2 Speed for Dry Air Force 9 Axial Air Mover

Regular price $10.64

Overview

Two-speed rocker switch, part number RD-00E-P3A10286. A dual-pole, dual-throw switch measuring 1 inch × 1¼ inch.

It is used on the Dry Air Force 9 axial air mover, among other applications.

Why the switch is the first thing to check

The rocker switch on an air mover is operated several times a day, on a machine that gets wet, dusty and knocked about. It is the single most-cycled component on the machine and one of the most exposed.

Before you condemn a motor or a capacitor on a machine that will not run:

  1. Does it run on the other speed? A machine that runs on one speed and not the other has a switch fault, not a motor fault.
  2. Does it work if you hold the rocker firmly? That is worn contacts.
  3. Is there any life at all? Check the lead and the plug first — Razorback's own safety instruction is to inspect the power cord visually before every use.

A switch is a fraction of the cost of a motor and it is the more likely fault.

Measure before you order

1 inch × 1¼ inch, dual pole dual throw. Rocker switches come in several body sizes and several pole configurations that look near-identical in a photograph, and a switch that is 2 mm out will not clip into the panel.

Check the number of terminals on the switch you are removing as well as the body size, and photograph the wiring before you disconnect it.

Dry Air use other switches on other machines: GN-00E-P3B10222 is the three-speed switch for the Typhoon, and GN-00E-P3B10218 is the plain on/off single-throw. They are not interchangeable.

Electrical safety

Isolate the machine at the plug before you start, and do not rely on the switch itself to isolate anything.

Restoration equipment works on wet sites. Anything that has been under water, or that has visible corrosion at the terminals, comes out of service until it has been checked properly — and equipment used in Australian workplaces is generally subject to periodic electrical testing and tagging obligations.
