Two-pin electrode using the same pins as your meter
A two-pin external electrode fitted with the same uninsulated 2497/A-100 pins used on Delmhorst meters with integral pins. It puts a familiar reading somewhere your hand and the meter body will not go.

Where it is used
Home inspectors use it on wood joists and drywall. Paper producers use it on curved surfaces such as cardboard and paper tubes, where the meter body will not sit flat. Woodworkers use it on timber, poles and veneer. The common thread is access — the reading is the same as the meter’s own pins would give, taken somewhere the meter cannot go.
Where it fits in the range
The 2-E reads at the same depth as your meter’s own pins, which makes readings directly comparable. Step up to the 22-E if you want slightly more depth and the option of insulated pins; go to the 21-E for cavity work, or the 26-ES for gradients in thick timber.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 2-ET available?
Delmhorst makes a 2-ET with a tapped handle for an extension pole. We do not stock it — ask us if you need one.
Are the pins insulated?
No. The reading is the wettest point across the full 7.9 mm. For depth-specific readings you need an electrode that takes insulated pins, such as the 22-E.
