Cap the ports you are not using
Same principle as the end caps on the larger lines: an open port bleeds the system. On a manifold with a dozen ports and eight injectors in use, four uncapped nipples will noticeably reduce what reaches the wall.
Red is deliberate — a capped port should be obvious at a glance when you are checking a setup that has run overnight.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many do I need?
One for every 3/8 inch port you are not using on a setup, plus spares. CCW sells them each, so order the number your manifolds and panels need. The Vac-It Slim Panel Kit already includes 20.
Do they fit the 1.25 inch lines?
No. These are for the 3/8 inch ID nipples on HP parts. Close 1.25 inch push-to-connect ports with the 1.25 inch end cap.
When should I replace them?
When they split, harden or no longer grip the nipple firmly. A loose cap leaks air just like an open port.
