Product Overview
The Dirty Grout Demon is a tile and grout brush built around abrasive bristle rather than stiffer bristle. Each filament is DuPont Tynex Nylo-Grit, which carries silicon carbide particles through the whole bristle rather than only on the surface — so as the bristle wears, fresh abrasive is exposed instead of the brush going smooth.
This version is supplied with the long handle, so grout can be worked standing up rather than on hands and knees. If you already have a handle, the brush head on its own is Dirty Grout Demon (AB112).
What the Design Actually Does
- Abrasive through the filament. Nylo-Grit does not polish smooth the way plain nylon does after heavy use.
- Flexible centre fill. The centre row flexes down into the grout line while the outer rows stay on the tile, so the brush cleans the line and the tile edge in the same stroke.
- Adapts to uneven lines. Grout lines vary in width and depth across a floor, and a rigid block only makes contact where the line happens to match it.
- Long handle included. Over a commercial floor, standing work is the difference between finishing the job and finishing your back.
Important — Abrasive Bristle, So Check the Surface
Silicon carbide bristle cuts. That is the point of it, and it is also the reason to know what you are cleaning before you start.

On an unfamiliar floor, test in a concealed corner first and ask whether the grout has been sealed or colour-sealed. That question is worth more than any brush.
Manufacturer's Claims
The manufacturer states the brush carries around 50 percent more bristle material than many traditional grout brushes, and that the Nylo-Grit filament gives faster soil removal and longer brush life than standard nylon. Those are the manufacturer's comparisons against unnamed products; CCW has not independently tested them. What is verifiable is the construction: abrasive-loaded filament and a flexible centre fill, both of which do what is described above.

Operating Advice
- Let the chemistry dwell first. Abrasive bristle is there to remove soil that has already been loosened, not to substitute for dwell time.
- Work along the grout line rather than across it. Crossing the line drags abrasive over the tile edge, and glaze chips start at edges.
- Moderate pressure. Bearing down flattens the centre fill out of the line, which is the one feature you are paying for.
- Rinse it out after acidic products and dry it bristle-up.

Colour-sealed grout is the trap on this brush. It looks like ordinary grout, it cleans beautifully for the first few strokes, and what is coming off is the seal rather than the soil. Ask what has been done to the floor before, not just what is on it now — and if nobody knows, start with plain nylon.
