The 14 inch Gekko Squeegee Head is the open-floor head of the Gekko range. It is built for high-pressure cleaning with fast drying: the squeegee recovers the water on the same pass that lays it down.
The Gekko System — One Wand, Six Heads
Gekko is a modular hard surface system. One wand takes any of six cleaning heads through a threaded collar, so a single wand covers open floor, corners, coving, shower walls, countertops and under toe kicks.

Important — New Gekko Heads Only
The current Gekko wand connects to all of the new Gekko heads. It will not work on old Gekko heads.
If you are adding to an existing Gekko set rather than buying new, tell us what you already have and we will confirm the generation before you order. This is the single most common mis-purchase on the range, and the parts look similar enough that it is not obvious until they are in your hands.
Spray Guards
The head carries spray guards on both sides. They stop water throwing outwards onto skirtings, cupboard kicks and anything else at floor level, without closing off the airflow into the head.
That last part matters. A head that is sealed against splash also seals against air, and a hard surface tool starved of air sucks itself down onto a wet floor. The guards are shaped to stop the water and let the air through.
Jets Screw Into the Head, Not a Spray Bar
Older hard surface heads ran a spray bar across the manifold. Debris that gets into a vacuum line — string, paper, hair — catches on a bar and blocks it, and clearing it means stripping the head.
On this head the jets screw directly into the metal housing. There is no bar for debris to catch on, airflow through the head is better for it, and there is less brass in the assembly to service. Jets are replaced without special tools.

Hydro-Force does not publish a separate pressure rating, jet specification or weight for this head. The Gekko wand it fits is rated to 2,000 psi. Rather than infer figures for the head itself, we have left them out — ask us if the jet sizes matter for your setup.
What It Runs On
The Gekko range works with any truckmount or high-pressure portable extractor. It is a high-pressure tool system, so a low-pressure portable will connect but will not deliver the result the tools were designed around.
Around 1,000 psi is sufficient for tile and grout work. The tools are rated to 2,000 psi, which is headroom rather than a target — if you are reaching for more pressure to get a result, dwell time and chemistry are usually the answer.
Operating Advice
- Overlap each pass. A squeegee head leaves a dry edge and a wet edge, and unoverlapped passes dry as stripes.
- Pull toward yourself down the length of the room, working back to an exit.
- Check the jets when a stripe appears in the result. One partially blocked jet shows up as a line down the floor.
- Do corners and edges first with the corner tool (AR51C), then take the open floor with this.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a separate squeegee?
No. The squeegee is part of the head. That is what makes the single-pass drying work.
Why does my wand suck down on wet tile?
Airflow starvation. It is the problem the spray guards are shaped to avoid, and it is worth checking the guards are undamaged if it starts happening.
Does it fit my Gekko wand?
It fits the new generation wand. It will not fit old Gekko equipment.
Squeegee head or brush head?
Squeegee for recovery and drying on open floor. Brush head (AR51H) when the floor needs agitation as well.
Are the jets hard to replace?
No. They screw into the head and need no special tools.

What We See in the Field
The Gekko range gets bought head by head over time, and the generation question is what catches people out — an old wand with a new head, or the reverse, bought months apart from different places. Check the generation before ordering rather than after.
The other pattern is pressure. Operators who are disappointed with a hard surface result are usually short on dwell time or running the wrong chemistry, and no amount of extra pressure at the tool makes up for either.
