Important — not for the 360i
This felt seal fits the Rotovac Power Wand. It is not the seal for the 360i. Check which machine you have before ordering.
Distributor listings do not agree on this. A US distributor sells Rotovac felt gasket S-027 for the original PowerWand and the Rotovac 360 and says it will not work on the 360i, which agrees with CCW. A UK distributor sells a felt seal described as fitting the 360i, Powerwand and DHX but not the original 360. If you run a 360, 360i or DHX, send us your model before ordering.
What the felt seal does
It maintains the vacuum seal between the rotating head and the housing. As it wears the machine loses recovery, and the symptom is carpet left wetter than it used to be rather than an obvious fault — so the seal gets blamed on the vacuum or the technique.
It is a consumable. Check it at every service.

Service Interval and Replacement
From the Rotovac Powerwand owner's manual:
- Check the felt seal on each vacuum head for damage or wear, and inspect or replace both after 500 to 600 hours of use.
- A worn or torn felt seal acts like a torn or punctured vacuum hose and leaves excess water in the carpet.
- When a head is refitted over a good seal you should feel the seal compress between the head and the housing. If you cannot feel it, the seal is too worn.
- After installing new felt seals, run the machine for 10 minutes before you begin cleaning.
- The manual recommends replacing the carbon brushes with every other set of new felt seals.
The manual refers to a seal on each head, so order enough to replace both at the same time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know the felt seal is worn?
Carpet is left wetter than it used to be, with no other obvious fault, and the seal no longer compresses when the head is refitted. Inspect it before blaming the vacuum source or the technique.
Should I replace one seal or both?
Both. They wear at the same rate, and a new seal on one head and a worn one on the other still leaves you losing recovery.
Will this fit my Rotovac 360i?
Not according to CCW's listing. Send us your model and serial number and we will confirm the correct seal.
