Important — Check the Size
This is the medium/large gasket. The small Water Claw uses a different gasket, part NM5533.
What the Vacuum Relief Gasket Does
A Water Claw is pressed onto saturated carpet and held there while the vacuum pulls water out of the underlay. The relief gasket controls the seal — too tight and the tool locks down and stalls the airflow, too loose and it never develops the suction needed to pull water up through the pad.
A hardened or torn gasket is why a claw stops extracting from underlay while still sounding perfectly normal.
