Bucket Heater 2400W

Never be caught without hot water again with this 2400 Watt heater. The element stands approx. 42cm high (excluding rubber handle) with 1.8m flexible electric cord 3 pin plug. A metal hook enables this element to be hung or mounted over the side of a bucket or portable machine. Full instructions and safety tips are included with this product.

What it is for

A bucket heater is a portable immersion element. It heats water in a bucket, a mop bucket or the solution tank of a portable extractor where there is no hot water on site, or where the tap water is not hot enough for the job. It is not a substitute for a machine heater — it heats a tank of water before you start, it does not keep solution hot as it passes to the wand.

Important — how a bucket heater must be used

The element must be fully submerged before it is switched on and switched off before it is lifted out. An element energised in air destroys itself in seconds and is a fire and burn risk. Never leave one unattended and never use one in a bucket that could be knocked over.

At 2400 W this draws close to the full capacity of a standard 10 A outlet. Do not run it on the same circuit as other equipment, and do not run it through a light-duty extension lead.

Hot water is a scald hazard

A bucket of water at working temperature in an occupied property is a serious risk to children and pets. Keep it in a controlled area and never leave it out of sight.

Other rules worth knowing

  • Plug it into an RCD-protected outlet or use a portable RCD.
  • Never put your hands in the water while the element is plugged in.
  • Heat fresh, clean water only. Distributors of Stokes elements note the warranty is void if the element is used in other liquids, including salt water — so do not heat made-up chemical solution with it.
  • It is a trade tool. Stokes-element distributors describe these as industrial use only, not for household use, and not for baths, pools or spas.
  • Let the element cool on its hook before packing it away, and inspect the cord and plug before every use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put it in my portable extractor tank?

Yes, if the element can hang fully submerged and clear of the tank floor and float switch, and the machine is not running on the same circuit. Remove it before the machine is started and before the tank is moved.

Can I heat detergent solution with it?

Heat clean water, then add chemical. Heating made-up solution can void the element warranty and some chemistry should not be heated.

How long does it take to heat a bucket?

That depends on the volume and the starting temperature, and the manufacturer does not publish a heating rate. Allow time before you need it and check the water temperature rather than guessing.
