A brass trigger valve with an extra long trigger and no lock-on, for spray application where the operator wants flow only while the trigger is held.

Why Non-Locking Matters

A lock-on trigger is useful when you are spraying continuously over a large area. It is a liability when you are applying chemical to a specific spot, because the valve stays open if the operator lets go — which is exactly when they have let go for a reason.

For prespray and spot work, non-locking is the safer choice and the one most operators prefer.

Check the Thread

CCW's listing gives the inlet and outlet as 1/4 inch BSP. Spraying Systems publish the 6590 with 1/4 inch female NPT inlet and outlet, and US distributors agree. We are confirming which thread is on current stock — until then, check before fitting.

A good deal of imported carpet cleaning equipment is NPT. The two threads will start together and will not seal. If you are not certain what your hose and lance use, tell us and we will confirm or supply an adaptor.

Know the Pressure Limit

Rated to 250 psi. This is a chemical application valve, not a wand valve — a truckmount running 400 to 600 psi will destroy it. For wand valves see the PMF range.

Spraying Systems also rate it to 60 °C, so it is not a valve for hot rinse lines.

Seals and Chemicals

The standard 6590 uses Buna seals. Buna suits water-based prespray and detergents; it is not the seal for every solvent. If you spray solvent-based products, tell us the chemical before ordering — Spraying Systems make a Viton-sealed version for that duty.

Where It Is Used

CCW catalogues this valve with the parts for the Hydro-Force TCBS Sprayer (AS16A). Spraying Systems list it for use with their FullJet and VeeJet threaded tips. Confirm the thread on your sprayer before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this on my wand?

No. At 250 psi and 60 °C it is a chemical sprayer valve. Wand valves on portables and truckmounts see far higher pressure and temperature.

Is there a lock-on version?

Spraying Systems make the 6104 with a trigger lock. CCW lists the non-lock 6590; ask us if you need the lock-on version.

What jet do I fit to it?

It takes a threaded tip on the outlet. Tell us what you are spraying and at what pressure, and we will suggest a VeeJet size from our jet range.
