The Tramex TREMS-WME/MC Remote Environmental Monitoring System monitors moisture content (%MC) in timber and wood moisture equivalent (WME) in other building materials such as wood-based products and plasterboard, alongside ambient temperature and relative humidity. It suits restoration contractors and building managers who need to know when the material itself is dry, not just the air around it.
The kit comprises a Tramex Cloud Station router, five CS-RHTX Tramex Cloud Sensors for ambient conditions, and five external WME/MC probes. Readings upload to the Tramex Cloud platform, where they can be viewed and reported from any browser, with notifications when conditions change.
Kit contents
Per the Tramex TREMS-WME/MC data sheet (August 2023):
- 5 x CS-RHTX Tramex Cloud Sensors
- 5 x WME/MC electrode probes
- 1 x Tramex Cloud Station
- Antennae for the Cloud Station
- Heavy-duty protective carry case
- Tramex Cloud software monitoring platform (tablet not included)
How the system works
On-site Cloud Sensors transmit relative humidity, temperature in °C and °F, dew point, grains per pound (grams per kilo) and WME/MC readings wirelessly to the Cloud Station, which uploads to Tramex Cloud. The resistance-type WME/MC probe measures %MC in wood and WME in other building materials.
- Sensor battery life of up to 15 years
- One Cloud Station supports up to 200 on-site sensors
- Registration by scanning the QR code on each sensor and station into your Cloud account
- Additional sensor and WME/MC probe accessory packs are available from Tramex
- Tramex states there are no subscription fees; data is stored free for two years, after which it must be downloaded
Why remote monitoring changes a drying job
Attendance is the expensive part of a drying programme. A technician driving across town to take readings is a cost that produces one data point. Remote sensors produce continuous evidence of what the materials and conditions did overnight and over weekends, which is what settles a disputed claim and what tells you a site is finished without a site visit to confirm it.

The TREMS range compared
| Kit | Sensors | Measures |
| TREMS-5 | 5 x CS-RHTA + Cloud Station | Ambient RH, temperature, dew point, GPP |
| TREMS-10 | 10 x CS-RHTA + Cloud Station | Ambient RH, temperature, dew point, GPP |
| TREMS-Xtra | 5 x CS-RHTX + 5 external RH probes + Cloud Station | Ambient plus in-situ relative humidity |
| TREMS-WME/MC | 5 x CS-RHTX + 5 external WME/MC probes + Cloud Station | Ambient plus material moisture content / WME |
The choice is about what you need to prove. The TREMS-5 and TREMS-10 monitor the air. The Xtra adds probes reading relative humidity inside the structure. The WME/MC adds probes reading moisture content in the material itself.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate Cloud Station for each job?
One station per site. A single station supports up to 200 sensors, so larger sites are covered by adding sensors, not stations.
Can I add sensors later?
Yes. Accessory packs add sensors to an existing station – AP-TREMS-5, AP-TREMS-10 and AP-TREMS-Xtra. Tramex also makes WME/MC probe accessory packs; ask us if you need them.
Is there an ongoing platform cost?
Tramex states there are no subscription fees and that data is stored free for two years, after which you need to download it. Platform terms are set by Tramex and can change, so ask us to confirm the current position before committing to a long monitoring contract.
What happens if the site loses internet?
This is worth checking against your site conditions before quoting a monitoring job. Contact us and we will confirm the current connectivity requirements with Tramex rather than guess.
TREMS is a system rather than an instrument, and the right configuration depends on the sites you monitor. Contact Carpet Cleaners Warehouse before you order and we will size it against your work.
