Important — TimberMaster only
This is the one Protimeter accessory in the pin range that is meter-specific. It does not work with the MMS2, SurveyMaster, Mini or Digital Mini. If you are buying it for anything other than a TimberMaster, stop and talk to us first.
Why temperature compensation matters above 20 °C
Electrical resistance in timber changes with temperature as well as with moisture. Above about 20 °C an uncompensated resistance meter reads high — it reports timber as wetter than it is. In an Australian summer, on a roof space or a north-facing deck, that is not a marginal effect.
Reading high is the safer direction of error than reading low, but it still costs money: it holds up a floor installation or extends a drying job that was already finished.
Tell us which Protimeter you run and we will confirm the right part before you order.
