Overview
Primary inlet grill for the Dry Air Technology Tempest air mover. Part number CF-00C-P4N20552.
Replacement grill only — four screw holes, heavy-duty PVC.
Do not run without it
An inlet grill is a guard, not trim. It is what stops a hand, a hose, a drop sheet or a curtain reaching a fan turning at speed — and air movers are routinely left running unattended in buildings with other trades and sometimes occupants moving around.
A machine that has lost its inlet grill comes out of service until the grill is replaced.
Keep it clear
A blocked inlet is one of the named causes of an air mover that runs briefly and then shuts off — the motor overheats because it cannot move air.
On restoration work, grills load with fibre, dust and insulation quickly. Check and clear them between jobs, and check the grill is not distorted enough to be sitting against the impeller.
Two grills on the Tempest
The Tempest has a second grill at the discharge — the snout grill, CF-00C-P4N20554. Check which one has failed before you order; they are different parts.
Why PVC rather than steel
A moulded PVC grill on a centrifugal machine is lighter and will not corrode on a wet site, which matters on equipment that spends its life in water damage work. What it will not do is take an impact the way a steel wire-form grill does — a hard drop tends to crack PVC rather than bend it.
The practical consequence: inspect a PVC grill for cracks as well as for blockage. A cracked grill can look intact from the front and be a fragment away from failing.
