Overview
Van mounting bracket for the HydraMaster RX-20 rotary extractor. HydraMaster part number 000-163-018, listed in the owner’s manual as Mounting Bracket.
The bracket holds the machine by its wheels. You set the extractor’s wheels into the bracket and it stays put — no wedging it against the bulkhead and no chasing it around the load space between jobs.
Why professionals fit one
An RX-20 weighs 79 lb (35.8 kg) and stands up to 43 in (109 cm) tall on a 21 in (53 cm) base. Loose in a van, that is a heavy, top-weighted object that moves under braking and cornering. What follows is damage to the machine — bent handle, cracked shroud, broken jets — and a load-restraint problem you would rather not have.
This is HydraMaster’s own answer to that. It is listed as optional equipment in the RX-20 owner’s manual, not an aftermarket fix.
Specifications
- HydraMaster part number: 000-163-018
- Function: wheel-located floor bracket for in-van storage
- Listed in MAN-47328 Rev. B as Mounting Bracket, under RX-20 optional equipment
HydraMaster does not publish the bracket’s dimensions, material or fixing centres in the owner’s manual, and we have not measured one, so we are not going to quote figures we cannot stand behind. If you need dimensions before you drill, ask us and we will measure the stock on the shelf.
Which RX-20 does this fit?
HydraMaster has built the RX-20 since the 1980s and there have been many revisions. Carpet Cleaners Warehouse supplies the current machine, the RX20 NEXTGEN, model 700-041-036 (CE, 230 V, 50 Hz).
The bracket is listed as optional equipment in the current owner’s manual, MAN-47328 Rev. B (March 2019), which covers models 700-041-030, -031, -032, -035, -036, -330, -331, -332, -333, -334 and -407. The manual describes it as securing your RX-20 High Efficiency model.
Because it locates the machine by its wheels rather than bolting to it, the electrical variant makes no difference — a 230 V 50 Hz CE machine and a 115 V machine sit in it the same way. We have not verified it against pre-2010 RX-20s. If yours is an older machine, send us the model number from the data plate first.
Fitting
The bracket mounts to the van floor. HydraMaster does not specify the fixings in the owner’s manual, and the right fixing depends on what your floor actually is — ply, checkerplate, steel deck or a proprietary van lining system each want a different answer.
Two things are worth doing before you drill. Check what sits under the floor at the mounting point — fuel and brake lines do not forgive a self-tapper. And position the bracket so the machine can be lifted straight in and out without twisting it past a hose reel or a shelf.
Frequently asked questions
Does the machine still need a strap?
HydraMaster’s stated claim is that setting the wheels into the bracket keeps the machine in place. Whether that alone satisfies your own load-restraint obligations is a judgement for you and for the standard your vehicle is operated to. If you want belt and braces, adding a strap over the bracket costs very little.
Are the fixings supplied?
HydraMaster does not specify them in the owner’s manual. Ask us before you order if you are relying on them being in the box.
Will it work with an attachment fitted?
The bracket locates the wheels, not the head, so which attachment is on the machine does not change how it sits.
Can I fit two in one van?
Yes. Nothing about the bracket is unique to a single installation — if you run two machines, order two.
Is this a general-purpose equipment bracket?
No. It is specific to the RX-20 and works by capturing the extractor’s wheels. It will not serve as a universal truckmount accessory bracket.
Will it suit an older RX-20?
Very likely, since the wheels locate it rather than any mounting face, but we have not verified it against the pre-2010 machines and we will not claim what we have not checked. Send us the model number from your data plate and we will confirm.
