Overview
Vacuum motor gasket for Razorback Sandia machines fitted with a 6.6 inch vacuum motor — the Optimiser range. Sandia part number 10-1030-S2-66.
Important — three similar gaskets, one number family
Sandia use closely related part numbers for gaskets that are not interchangeable:
- 10-1030-S2-66 — 6.6 inch motor gasket. This part.
- 10-1030-S2-025 — the other 6.6 Optimiser gasket.
- 10-1030 — the 3-gallon Spot-XTract spotter gasket, a different machine entirely.
Measure the motor before you order. The suffix is the specification, and the three are close enough in appearance to be ordered wrongly and far enough apart not to seal.
CCW's own record describes 10-1030-S2-025 as the 1/4 inch thick gasket, which is the only differentiator we hold between the two. We have not been able to confirm that against a Sandia parts list, so treat it as CCW workshop knowledge rather than a manufacturer specification.
Measure the thickness of the gasket you are replacing before you order, or send us a photo alongside the motor and we will confirm. It is on our list for supplier clarification.
Chasing suction loss, in order
- Hose and hand tool — blockage or a split cuff. Most common by far.
- Lid and tank seals — a lid that no longer seals costs suction across the whole job.
- Float assembly — stuck, or debris holding it partly closed.
- Motor screen — loaded with fibre.
- Motor gasket — hardened, cracked or previously reused.
- The motor itself — last, not first.
Always replace it when the motor comes out
A vacuum motor gasket takes a permanent set to the joint under clamping load and will not seal the same joint twice. Whether you are replacing a motor, chasing a leak or cleaning the machine out, treat it as a consumable — it is inexpensive and having one on the shelf is the difference between finishing the job and leaving the machine in pieces.
It is also a mounting cushion: a motor bolted down without a serviceable gasket puts its vibration straight into the housing, which is harder on its own bearings.
