Overview
Recovery tank lid gasket for HydraMaster truckmounts. HydraMaster part number 000-057-043, listed as Gasket, Recovery Tank and, in HydraMaster's own suggested spares schedule, as the waste tank gasket kit.
It is supplied as a length. In most cases it will be longer than you need — cut it to suit your machine.
What it fits
This is the closest thing HydraMaster has to a universal part. Their suggested spares schedule lists it against every machine in the range:
- Boxxer 421 and Boxxer 427
- CDS 4.6, CDS 4.7 and CDS 4.8
- CTS330 and CTS450
- MAXX 450D / 470D
- SpitFire 3.2 and SpitFire 4.0
- Crossfire 4.2
Important: it suits HydraMaster machines that do not have a MaxxAir tank. If your machine has the MaxxAir arrangement, ask us before ordering.
Why the recovery tank seal matters
Everything the machine recovers depends on the tank holding vacuum. A lid gasket that has gone hard, taken a permanent set, or lifted at a corner is a leak in the largest, lowest-pressure part of the vacuum path — and it costs you lift at the wand on every job.
It is also the leak operators most often miss, because the machine sounds and looks normal. The vacuum gauge tells the story: if lift is down and the gauge is not climbing, air is getting in somewhere it should not, and the lid is the first place to check.
Fitting advice
Clean the channel properly. Old adhesive, dried slurry and fibre under a new gasket will hold it off the sealing face and you will not get the seal back.
Cut it slightly long rather than short, and butt the join on a straight run rather than at a corner. A join at a corner is where the seal will fail first.
Fit it relaxed. Stretching the gasket into place makes it look right on the bench and pull back into a gap after a few heat cycles.

Will it fit my machine?
HydraMaster list it against every truckmount in the range except machines with the MaxxAir tank. If yours has a MaxxAir tank, ask us first.
Do I need adhesive?
Follow the arrangement on your machine — check what was fitted before you strip it. Do not glue a gasket into a channel designed to hold it mechanically.
How do I know the seal has gone?
Vacuum lift down at the wand with no rise on the vacuum gauge, or a gasket you can compress with a thumbnail and it stays compressed.
