The Delmhorst TotalCheck is a 3-in-1 moisture meter combining pin mode, pinless scan mode and a thermo-hygrometer. It corrects for 69 individual wood species and stores up to 1,400 readings with a date and time stamp, grouped by job, for download to a PC.
Storage is what separates it from the QuickNav. If you have to hand over drying records or support an insurance claim, dated readings organised by job are the evidence.
What is in this package
- TotalCheck meter
- RH/T-S1 ambient humidity sensor
- Carrying case
- 21-E deep wall electrode
- 26-ES slide hammer electrode with ten 496 insulated pins
- PC kit with application software
The Restoration package carries both electrodes, so it covers wall cavities and timber flooring without a second purchase — the two things a restoration contractor reads most.

Relative humidity and ASTM F-2170
This package ships with the RH/T-S1 ambient sensor, not the in-situ probe. It reads air temperature and humidity, which is what you need for drying records and psychrometrics on a restoration job.
It will not perform in-situ relative humidity testing inside a concrete slab to ASTM F-2170. That requires the RH/T-S3 in-situ sensor, which we stock separately and which can be added to this meter at any time. If slab testing is part of your work, factor that in when comparing this package against the Flooring package.
Which RH sensor is in your package
Delmhorst build each TotalCheck package around a use case and fit the sensor to suit. One manual covers all of them, so the manual alone will not tell you which you have.
| Package | RH sensor | In-situ slab testing |
| TOTALCHECK | RH/T-S3 | Yes |
| TOTALCHECK/S1 | RH/T-S1 | No — ambient only |
| TOTALCHECK/CP | RH/T-S3 | Yes |
| TOTALCHECK/FP | RH/T-S3 | Yes |
| TOTALCHECK/RP2/MM | RH/T-S1 | No — ambient only |
The S3 is the in-situ probe used inside a drilled hole in a concrete slab for ASTM F-2170 testing. The S1 reads ambient air temperature and humidity. Both are stocked separately, so a package can be upgraded later.
Choosing between the Delmhorst multi-mode meters
Four meters cover this ground and they separate on three things: how many measurement modes, whether the meter stores and exports readings, and whether it measures relative humidity.
| Meter | Modes | Stores readings | Suits |
| TechCheck Plus | Pin and scan | No | Two-mode work without RH. Freezes a reading taken out of sight. |
| QuickNav | Pin, scan, RH | No | Full 3-in-1 capability where you record readings yourself. |
| TotalCheck | Pin, scan, RH | Up to 1,400 with date and time stamp | Documented drying records, job groupings, PC download. |
| Navigator Pro | Pin, scan, RH | Yes, with job and room structure | Restoration work needing readings organised by room and exported. |
The honest short version. If you do not need to store and download readings, the QuickNav does the same measuring as the Navigator Pro for considerably less — Delmhorst say so themselves. If your work is insurance-backed or you are handing over drying records, storage stops being a luxury and the TotalCheck or Navigator Pro earns the difference.
All four take the same external electrodes, so a 21-E or 26-ES bought with one meter carries across to the next.
Frequently asked questions
What does 3-in-1 actually mean?
Pin mode for quantitative moisture content at a known depth, scan mode for finding moisture without marking a surface, and a thermo-hygrometer for air temperature and relative humidity. Three instruments in one body, so you are not carrying three.
Do I need storage?
Only if you have to prove what you found. On insurance and warranty work, a dated set of readings organised by room is what supports the claim. On maintenance work where you act on the reading and move on, storage is weight you are paying for.
Can I add electrodes later?
Yes. All Delmhorst electrodes fit all current Delmhorst meters. The 21-E reads inside wall cavities and the 26-ES drives into timber flooring with insulated pins.
Is scan mode a moisture content reading?
No. Scan mode gives a 0 to 300 relative reference, not a percentage. Use it to find where the moisture is, then pin the area to get a number you can defend.
Who supports the meter in Australia?
We do. Carpet Cleaners Warehouse is the exclusive Australian distributor for Delmhorst outside the agricultural sector, and we hold electrodes, pins and sleeves in stock.
Support and warranty
Carpet Cleaners Warehouse is the exclusive Australian distributor for Delmhorst outside the agricultural sector. Service, calibration questions and warranty claims are handled here rather than sent overseas, and we hold electrodes and pins in stock.
