Brushes, Rakes & Grooms
Grooming tools do the work that machines can't. A rake lifts crushed pile and pulls out embedded debris before you start extracting. A groomer distributes pre-spray evenly through the fibre rather than leaving it sitting on the surface. A finishing brush stands the pile up as the carpet dries, which is often the difference between a job that looks clean and a job that looks new.
This range covers all three, from the Grandi Groom V2 through to horsehair, brass and carding brushes for specialist fibres, plus grout brushes and detail tools for hard surface work.
Choosing the right tool
Rakes are for pile lifting and debris removal before cleaning. Use one on heavily trafficked commercial carpet or any pile that has been crushed flat, and you will recover soil that extraction alone leaves behind.
Groomers work the pre-spray down into the fibre so the chemical reaches the soil rather than sitting on top of it. On wool and other absorbent fibres this matters more, because dwell time is doing most of the work.
Finishing brushes are used after extraction, while the carpet is still damp, to set the pile direction and speed drying. This is the step most operators skip and most clients notice.
Specialist brushes — horsehair for delicate fibres, brass for velvet, carding brushes for restoring flattened pile — handle the jobs where a general-purpose tool would cause damage.
Replacement heads are available for the Grandi Groom range, and a conversion kit lets you switch a rake to a brush without buying a second handle. Grout brushes and detail tools are available for hard surface work.
On carpet and rugs heavily laden with dry soil, run a Grandi Groom through the pile while you vacuum — it brings the grit up where the vacuum can take it. Then match the tool to the pile for finishing: Grooms are for thick nylons and wool berbers, Brushes are for short and cut pile.
