What it does and does not do

An enhancing sealer works by wetting the stone — the same effect you see when rain darkens a paver. It deepens colour and evens out patchy appearance, and the sealer component resists spills soaking in.

It does not repair damage. Minor etching and fine scratches become less visible because the surface reads darker and more uniform, not because they have been removed. Deep etching, chips and lippage need mechanical correction.

Frequently asked questions

Will it change the colour of my stone?

Yes — that is the point. Enhancing sealers darken and enrich. Test on an offcut or an inconspicuous area first, because the effect on a light limestone is considerable and it cannot easily be undone.

Can I use it outside?

It is specified for interior use on porous and unpolished stone. For external work, ask us — UV exposure and moisture movement change what a sealer needs to do.

Will it work on polished stone?

No. It is for porous and textured surfaces — slate, limestone, travertine, saltillo, flagstone, sandstone, tumbled and flamed finishes. Polished stone will not absorb it.

How do I know when to reapply?

Water test. Drop water on the surface; if it darkens and soaks in rather than beading, the sealer has worn. Traffic and cleaning chemistry determine the interval more than time does.
