Orbot driver plate mounting screw
The screw that mounts the driver plate on an Orbot orbital machine.
Check these when a machine starts to vibrate
The driver plate is the part that carries the pad and takes the orbital load. A mounting screw that has backed off changes the balance of the head, and the first symptom is vibration through the handles rather than an obvious fault. Check them as part of routine service.
Identifying the right part
Fasteners and small components change between production runs, and the part on your machine may not match the current drawing. Measure what you are replacing, or photograph it against a ruler, and send that with your model and serial number. It takes a minute and it saves an order that does not fit.

Refitting Driver Plate Screws
- Unplug the machine and remove the pad.
- Clean the threads in the tee nut. If they are damaged, replace the tee nut as well.
- Start each screw by hand so it does not cross-thread.
- Tighten the screws evenly across the plate rather than one at a time to full tightness.
- Run the machine briefly and check for vibration through the handles before going back to work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I replace the tee nut at the same time?
Only if its thread is damaged or it has pulled out of the plate. The tee nut is listed as HOS3043.
How many screws hold the driver plate?
Orbot does not publish the count. Count the holes on your plate and order to suit. If one has backed off, check all of them.
