Rebuild rather than replace
A pump body is a machined casting with consumable seals inside it. The seals fail; the body outlives them many times over. Water weeping from the pump body, or pressure that falls away under load, is a seal kit — not a new pump.
What kills seals early
Running dry, even briefly. Pump seals rely on the pumped fluid for lubrication and cooling, and a few seconds without it does damage that shows up as lost pressure a week later. Check the tank before you check the pump.
