Plastic or stainless head?
A plastic head is lighter and gentler on a delicate face fabric, and it does not conduct heat into the operator’s hand. A stainless head — the AW50A — survives being dropped, resists distortion from hot solution and holds the vacuum slot true for longer.
For high-volume commercial work, stainless. For delicate domestic upholstery and antique fabrics, plastic is often the better tool. Neither is a compromise; they are different jobs.

Jets are consumables
Jets wear invisibly. A worn jet changes the spray pattern, drops the solution temperature reaching the fibre and alters chemical draw — and the result reads as uneven cleaning rather than a worn part. Replace brass jets every six months and stainless jets annually on a tool in regular use.
