Overview
Garden hose inlet connector for HydraMaster truckmounts. HydraMaster part number 000-052-247. It is the fitting that joins your incoming water supply hose to the machine.
It is a small part in a place that matters: everything the machine does downstream depends on getting clean water in at a usable rate, and the inlet is where most fill-rate problems start.
What it does
The connector presents a garden hose thread at the machine's fresh water inlet so a standard supply hose can be connected and disconnected on site without tools.
On most HydraMaster machines it works alongside two other parts in the same inlet:
- 049-023 — garden hose screen, the filter that keeps site grit out of the water box (not currently a stocked CCW line)
- 057-052 — garden hose gasket, the seal in the connector itself (not currently a stocked CCW line)
Operating advice
Check the gasket, not just the connector. Nearly every leak at a garden hose connection is a missing, hardened or displaced gasket, and a leaking inlet on a wet site is easy to ignore until it costs you fill rate.
Do not run without the inlet screen. Site taps, rainwater tanks and older reticulation all deliver grit, and grit in the water box ends up in the pump, the orifice and the jets. The screen is the cheapest filtration in the machine.
Hand tight is tight enough. Overtightening a garden hose thread distorts the gasket and makes the leak worse.
If your fill rate is poor, work in order: the tap, the supply hose, this connector and its gasket, then the screen. It is almost always a blocked screen or a kinked hose rather than the machine.
Frequently asked questions
What thread does it have?
It is a garden hose connection at the supply side. HydraMaster does not state the machine-side thread in the documentation we hold. If you need that figure before ordering, send us a photo of the inlet and we will confirm.
Does it include the gasket and screen?
HydraMaster list the gasket (057-052) and the screen (049-023) as separate part numbers. We have not verified whether either is supplied with the connector. Ask us before ordering if you need both.
Will it suit any HydraMaster truckmount?
It is HydraMaster's standard garden hose inlet connector. We have not verified it against every model's parts list. Send us your machine model and we will check.
Can I use a quick-connect fitting instead?
Many operators do, for speed. Whatever you fit, keep the inlet screen in the circuit — a quick connect that bypasses the screen is a false economy.
Struggling with fill rate on site? Tell us the machine and what you are seeing and we will help you work through it before you start replacing parts.
