Extraction and drying
Heavy cotton gives both absorbency and aggressive agitation. Used after extraction it pulls residual moisture out of the pile; used with a spotting or interim cleaning solution it works the chemistry in.
Launder them properly
Bonnets carry everything they lift. Wash them hot without fabric softener — softener coats cotton fibre and destroys its absorbency, which is the only reason you bought cotton.
