Actichem Deostor Spray 5 Ltr

Regular price $139.37

Deostor Spray is a ready-to-use odour neutraliser for misting and wiping - the one you reach for when the area is too small to justify setting up fogging equipment, or when you cannot leave a residue behind. This listing is the 5 litre pack.

It is a blend of Elimotech essential oils and volatile, polar solvents. The solvent carrier is what makes it flash off cleanly, and it is also why the product is flammable - see the safety section below before you order.

Product description

Deostor Spray is powered by Elimotech chemistry for rapid neutralisation of mal-odours. Elimotech reacts with and neutralises odour molecules at a micro-molecular level, enabling quick and permanent elimination of trapped, embedded and air-borne odours.

Even a thorough disinfection and wash down of an area will not remove all odour molecules. Micro mal-odour molecules exist in the air, trapped in fabrics, carpets and porous materials. In addition to a cleaning routine, you need an Odour Control Strategy.

Where it earns its place

  • Aerial room spray - misted through a trigger spray or pressure sprayer as a stand-alone treatment.
  • Small areas - localised spots too small to be worth bringing a fogger to.
  • Low-residue work - where you do not want to leave anything behind on the surface.
  • Spray and wipe - smooth surfaces, appliances, household items.
  • Injecting - into cushions, upholstery, carpet and soft furnishings, for odour from food and beverage spills, urine, mould or smoke.

Actichem list it as suitable for carpet, wool, upholstery, leather, natural stone, ceramic and porcelain, concrete and masonry, plasterboard, rubber, timber, vinyl and all surfaces. Pre-test in an inconspicuous location regardless - substrate sensitivity varies.

Application

Supplied ready to use. No dilution.

  • Do not wet fog and do not thermal fog. Actichem state this explicitly. If you want to fog a space, use the Odourtak range, which is formulated for it.
  • Wear suitable respiratory protection when aerosolising Deostor Spray in any quantity.
  • It is flammable - take precautions against ignition sources while you are spraying and while it flashes off.
  • Always pre-test in an inconspicuous location for substrate sensitivity before treating the whole area.

Safety - please read before you order

We have corrected this page. It previously described Deostor Spray as non-hazardous. That was wrong, and we would rather say so plainly than change it quietly. Actichem's current safety data sheet, issued 1 October 2025, classifies it as follows.

Signal word: DANGER

GHS classification: Eye Irritation Category 2A, Flammable Liquid Category 3.

  • H226 Flammable liquid and vapour
  • H319 Causes serious eye irritation

Flash point around 23 °C. HAZCHEM 3Y. Keep it away from heat, sparks and open flame, keep the container closed, and think about ignition sources before you start misting a room with it.

Actichem also specify suitable respiratory protection when aerosolising it in large quantities, and eye protection is sensible given the H319 classification.

A note on transport. Actichem state the product is not regulated for transport of dangerous goods in pack sizes of 5 litres or less. That exemption is about how it may be shipped. It does not mean the product is non-hazardous, and it does not change how you store or handle it on site. We think that exemption is where the old wording on this page came from.

The rest of the odour control range

Spray, Deostor or Odourtak - which one?

Three different jobs.

  • Deostor Spray is ready to use and hand-applied. Small areas, spot work, injecting into soft furnishings, low residue.
  • Deostor Fire / Organic are concentrates you dilute into a wash-down or knock-down solution. They treat surfaces and the wash water during remediation.
  • Odourtak is ready to use and fogged into a space, to reach the air and the cavities. It is the finishing step, and it is the only one of the three you should put through fogging equipment.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fog it?

No. Actichem say explicitly: do not wet fog and do not thermal fog Deostor Spray. It is designed to be misted by hand through a trigger or pressure sprayer. If the job needs fogging, use the Odourtak range.

Do I dilute it?

No. It is supplied ready to use.

Is it hazardous?

Yes. It is a Category 3 flammable liquid and a serious eye irritant, signal word DANGER. The page used to say non-hazardous; that was wrong and has been corrected. Read the safety data sheet above and make sure whoever is spraying it has seen it. The fact that it ships unregulated in 5 litre packs is a transport exemption, not a hazard rating.

What protection should the operator wear?

Actichem specify suitable respiratory protection when aerosolising in large quantities. Eye protection is sensible given the H319 classification. Ventilate the space and keep ignition sources away while you work.

Will it stain or damage the surface?

Actichem list it as suitable for a wide range including carpet, wool, upholstery, leather, stone, timber and vinyl. That is not a substitute for pre-testing in an inconspicuous spot, which they and we both recommend every time.

What we see in the field

[Technician's Note - replace before publishing: two to four sentences of first-hand CCW field experience relevant to this product. A pattern you see, a mistake customers make, or something learned from servicing or selling it. Not spec repetition, not a sales pitch, not invented.]

Not sure whether the job calls for a hand spray, a dilutable Deostor or a fogging product? Ring Carpet Cleaners Warehouse before you order. Getting the application method right matters more than the fragrance, and with this one it also matters for safety.
