Overview
Repair kit for the Prochem wand valve. Prochem part number PP66-808169, listed in the parts schedule as Kit, Repair Wand Valve under Sapphire number 48-000, and catalogued by Legend Brands as 117821.
A wand valve that leaks past the seals, drips after the trigger releases, or has become stiff to operate is usually a seal and spring job rather than a new valve. This kit is the parts to do it.

The stainless steel stem is not in the kit. It is Prochem PP16-808189 and we can order it in. In most rebuilds the stem is reusable — it only needs replacing if there is visible damage such as scoring, pitting or a bent shaft. Inspect it while the valve is apart and decide then.
What it fits
Most Prochem wands and stair tools use this valve, including:
- The standard Quad-Jet wand
- The Titanium wand
- Stair tools
- Upholstery tools
It does not fit the 2-jet wands. Those use a different valve, and this kit will not suit them.

When to rebuild rather than replace
Rebuild when the valve body is sound and the fault is in the seals — dripping after release, a weep at the cap, or a stiff trigger. That is what wears, and it is what this kit addresses.
Replace the valve when the body itself is damaged: a stripped thread, a cracked casting, or a seat that a new stem and seals will not seal against. A kit fitted to a damaged body is a job you will do twice.
Fitting advice
Depressurise the solution line and pull the trigger to release any trapped pressure before you start. A wand valve holds pressure after the machine is off.
Lay the parts out in order as they come off. Note which way round the backup ring sits against its O-ring — fitted the wrong way it will not seal, and the valve will drip exactly as it did before the rebuild.
Lubricate the new O-rings lightly before assembly, and check for weeping at working pressure before the tool goes back on the truck.
Frequently asked questions
Does it include the stem?
No. The stainless steel stem is Prochem PP16-808189, ordered separately. Most rebuilds reuse the original stem — replace it only if it is visibly damaged.
Will it fit my 2-jet wand?
No. The 2-jet wands use a different valve. Ask us and we will identify the right parts.
My valve drips after I release the trigger. Is this the right kit?
Usually yes — dripping after release is typically the stem O-ring and backup ring, both of which are in the kit. If it still drips after a rebuild, the stem or the seat is likely damaged.
How do I know whether my tool uses this valve?
Identify it from the valve body rather than the wand, since the same valve is used across several Prochem tools. Send us a photograph if you want it confirmed.
Should I rebuild or fit a new valve?
Rebuild if the body is sound and the fault is in the seals. Replace the valve if the body is damaged — see above.
Do I need any special tools?
No. It is a hand-tool job, but work clean — grit on a sealing face will undo the rebuild.
