The Direct-It (Injectidry part UAA2) turns an axial fan or air scrubber into a cavity-drying system. Air is pushed into — or pulled out of — wall cavities, under cabinets and behind kickboards through small holes, so fewer walls, ceilings and cabinets have to be opened up.
Important: Kit or Head Only? Axial or Standard?
- This listing is the complete kit — adapter, hose, cuffs and penetrators. If you already own the hose and fittings, the UAA2 adapter head only is listed separately.
- This adapter is for duct-ring equipment (axial fans, air scrubbers). For conventional centrifugal carpet air movers, use the Direct-It IN kit (UAA1), which fits the front of the air mover instead.

Injectidry's own packing list for this kit (Direct-It manual) is: the adapter, 3 × PL05 1.25 inch × 50 ft hose (150 ft, about 45.7 m), 17 × HC1 1.25 inch hose cuffs, 17 × WP2 5/8 inch wall penetrators, 10 × end cap plugs, a carry bag and the manual. CCW lists the four items above — ask us if you need to confirm the end caps and bag are in the box you receive.
How It Attaches
Injectidry's manual describes a stepped adapter that slips into 12, 14, 16 or 18 inch duct rings, fitted either positively (blowing into the cavities) or negatively (pulling air out).
- Axial fans, positive or negative: hold the adapter on with bungee cords.
- Air scrubber, negative: Injectidry says the adapter can sit on top of the unit without a bungee.
- Newer Phoenix Guardian HEPA: the intake collar has gone — the duct ring adapter (ADPRING) restores it. Injectidry lists it for Direct-It, ADP-5 and ADP-9.
On a job with contaminated materials, running negative through a HEPA air scrubber keeps cavity air from being blown into the room. A cavity-drying adapter is not containment — follow your scope and the relevant restoration standard for Category 2 and 3 water or mould.
Drilling and Set-Up
- Extract standing water first. Direct-It moves air into cavities; it does not remove water.
- Drill an 11/16 inch (about 17.5 mm) hole for each 5/8 inch wall penetrator — Injectidry specifies a paddle bit of that size.
- Fit an adjustable drill stop. Injectidry strongly recommends one: electrical cabling and plumbing sit behind walls and cabinets.
- Cut the PL05 hose to the lengths you need, fit a hose cuff to each end at the wall, and push the penetrator into the hole.
- Connect the other ends to the adapter and cap any unused adapter ports.
- Monitor with a moisture meter and record readings as you would for any drying job.
Injectidry's suggested cut list turns the three 50 ft rolls into lengths from 2 ft to 12 ft, which is how the kit reaches its 22 linear feet (about 6.7 m) of wall "as packaged".
Bungee Safety
- Wear safety eyewear when handling bungee cords (Injectidry specifies ANSI-rated; in Australia use eyewear to AS/NZS 1337.1).
- Inspect the cords before use. Do not use a frayed cord or one with bent or damaged hooks.
- Do not stretch a cord more than 50%.
- Pull to one side and keep your face and body out of the rebound path.

Injectidry's manual gives a 1-year warranty on Direct-It and Direct-It IN products, excluding accidental damage, alteration, normal wear, disassembly, lack of maintenance, fire or flood damage, chemical damage, unauthorised repairs, non-genuine parts and misuse. Frequently Asked Questions
Which fans will it fit?
Any axial fan or air scrubber with a 12, 14, 16 or 18 inch duct ring, according to Injectidry. Measure the ring before ordering. Ducted ventilators such as the Dry Air Max Force have duct rings, but the ring size is not published — check yours.
Positive or negative — which should I use?
Positive pushes dry air into the cavity and is the usual choice on clean water. Negative pulls cavity air out through the fan or scrubber, which is the better choice when you do not want cavity air entering the room.
How far will one kit dry?
Injectidry rates the kit at 22 linear feet (about 6.7 m) of wall as packaged. More wall means another kit or a larger system.
Can I use it with my Injectidry HP system?
Direct-It and HP are separate systems with different hose and fittings. Direct-It uses 1.25 inch PL05 hose and HC1 cuffs; HP uses push-to-connect fittings. They are not interchangeable.
What will I need to replace?
Wall penetrators, cuffs and hose are the consumables. Penetrators and cuffs are listed separately.
