ZipDoor or a Pole Barrier?
The ZipDoor seals an existing doorway. It needs no poles, goes up in minutes and gives you a zippered entry straight away — the right tool when the work area is a single room and the only opening is its door.
It is not a barrier across open space. Where there is no door frame to fix to — an open-plan area, a hallway, a room with an archway — use ZipWall poles: the 2 pole pack for a single opening, or the Zip and Seal Pack for a sealed barrier with zippers.
About the Tape
Unlike the pole system, the ZipDoor is held up with tape. ZipWall supply a low-high tack double-sided tape made for this job, but on fragile surfaces — fresh paint, wallpaper, old varnished timber frames — any adhesive can lift the finish. Test a short length somewhere unobtrusive first, and remove the tape slowly, peeling back on itself.
Fitting
- Measure the opening — the kit suits doorways up to 1150 mm wide and 2200 mm high.
- Wipe the frame or wall face clean and dry where the tape will go.
- Apply the tape around the opening, then press the ZipDoor sheet onto it, top first, keeping it taut.
- Seal the bottom edge to the floor if the job needs it — floor coverings and finishes vary, so test first.
- Open the zippers to check the flap closes cleanly before work starts.
Put a tacky mat outside the door so dust does not leave on boots.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can it be reused?
It is sold as a single ZipDoor sheet with its own tape. Reuse on a clean job may be possible if the sheet and zippers are undamaged, but the tape will need replacing; on contaminated jobs dispose of it with the job waste.
Will it fit a double door?
No — the maximum opening is 1150 mm wide. For wider openings use a pole barrier.
Does it hold negative pressure?
It seals the doorway, which is what negative-pressure containment needs at that opening. Check the tape line and the bottom edge once the air scrubber is running.
