Product Overview
Actichem Spray & Wipe is a concentrated multi-surface cleaner built on surfactants plus enzymes. The enzyme component is what distinguishes it: it continues breaking down organic matter after the cleaning application has finished, which is why it performs well on the odour sources in washrooms and kitchens rather than just on visible soil.
Benefits
- Keeps working after you leave — Elimotech enzyme technology continues digesting organic matter on the surface.
- Deals with the source of odour, not the smell. Organic residue in grout, floor junctions and under fittings is what produces washroom odour; digesting it is a different and more durable approach than masking it with fragrance.
- Cleans, refreshes and removes organic waste across hard surfaces.
- Anti-resoiling technology — surfaces resist dirt after cleaning.
- GECA certified — an independent Australian environmental certification.
- Concentrated — runs from 1:4 down to 1:80 depending on the task.
A note on what we do and do not claim
This listing previously described “antimicrobial action”, “powerful germ-killing action”, and said the enzymes “prevent bacteria from growing”. We have removed that wording.
Antimicrobial and germ-kill claims are regulated in Australia, and we can find no ARTG or APVMA listing for this product. Enzymes digest organic matter — they are not a biocide, and removing the organic matter bacteria feed on is a genuinely useful thing that is not the same as killing bacteria. The product does the first; we are not able to evidence the second. We have asked Actichem whether a listing exists.
The GECA environmental certification is a separate matter and stands — it is an independently audited environmental claim, not a health claim.
We have also softened “non-toxic for the environment”. It is septic safe and GECA certified, which are the accurate claims. The concentrate is a classified hazardous chemical — see the safety section.
Application areas and surface suitability
All hard surfaces including walls and floors. Suited to a spray bottle or a mop bucket.
Regular use reduces the need for harsh deep-cleaning chemicals — which is the real economic argument for an enzyme product. Keeping organic load down continuously means you are not periodically reaching for something like Surface Clean HD at pH 12.9.
How to Use
Read the safety data sheet before use.
Dilution
| Heavily soiled surfaces | 1:4 (200 ml/L) |
| Lightly soiled surfaces | 1:9 (100 ml/L) |
| Floor mopping | 1:50 (20 ml/L) |
| Autoscrubber | 1:80 (12.5 ml/L) |
Kitchens and washrooms
- Dilute 1:9 for general cleaning.
- Apply with a spray bottle or scourer sponge.
- Wipe or rinse with clean water.
- Allow 10 minutes dwell where thorough cleaning of organic load is required. Enzymes work on contact time — wiping immediately gives you the surfactant performance and none of the enzyme benefit you are paying for.
- Use 1:50 for mopping floor tiles.
Housekeeping
- 1:9 for general spray-and-wipe tasks.
- 1:50 for floor mopping.
Getting the best from an enzyme product
- Do not mix it with a disinfectant or bleach. Enzymes are proteins; oxidisers and strong biocides denature them. You will have paid for enzyme technology and switched it off in the bucket.
- Do not use very hot water. Heat denatures enzymes. Warm is fine; boiling is not.
- Give it dwell time. This is the single biggest factor in whether the product performs.
Safety
This listing previously recorded “Safety profile: Non-hazardous”. That was wrong and has been corrected.
Actichem’s safety data sheet for RG755, version 1.1 issued 12 August 2021, classifies Spray & Wipe as a hazardous chemical with the signal word DANGER.
- H318 — causes serious eye damage (Category 1)
- No poisons schedule. Not a dangerous good. pH 8.5–8.8.
⚠ H318 — serious eye damage
The highest eye classification in the GHS system. Damage, not irritation.
Note the pH: 8.5 to 8.8, barely above neutral. That is worth pausing on, because it demonstrates something important — pH is not a proxy for hazard. A near-neutral product can carry the most serious eye classification, because surfactants damage the eye by a different mechanism than acids and alkalis. Anyone judging risk by pH alone will get this one wrong.
Chemical goggles when decanting or diluting the concentrate. Working solution at 1:9 to 1:80 is a very different proposition, but people are injured by concentrates.
What it reacts with
Actichem’s sheet notes incompatibility with metal containers — store and decant into polyethylene or polypropylene only.
As a working rule, and for performance reasons as much as safety: do not mix it with anything.
First aid
Eyes. Wash out immediately with water, holding the eyelids apart. Seek medical attention.
Skin. Flush with running water.
Swallowed. Do not induce vomiting. Give water and seek medical advice.
