GreenGlides Glide for CMP PowerClean 14 Inch Low Profile Slotted

Regular price $369.60

This is a SLOTTED glide for maximum agitation and debris removal.

It pushes easier and dries slightly faster than the un-glided wand, but not as easy or as fast as the holed or hybrid glides.

How to install an External Fit GreenGlide

  • A warm glide installs easier than a cold glide and is less damaging to the glide. We suggest boiling the glide in a large pot of water for 10-20 minutes. Teflon has a melting point of over 500º, so there is no need to be concerned that you will melt the glide.
  • Use an oven mitt during installation to avoid burns. After heating the glide, install it beginning at one end of the wand lips. With the glide in proper relation front to back, push one end of the glide onto the wand lips at a steep angle. Slowly squeeze the rest of the glide onto the wand until it snaps firmly into place. Once installed, check for fit. The glide should not rock or wiggle on the wand. Prochem Titanium and Quad Jet wands will need an hour or so for the Glide to shrink back to its original shape after installation, due to the big stretch needed to get the Glide off their large lips.
  • On older wands with worn or bent lips, or wands that have been repaired or modified at the lips, the glide may leak too much. After the glide is installed, run a THIN bead of GOOP® brand adhesive/sealer along the front and back edges of the glide (do each side separately) where the glide meets the wand, along the top edge. Leave the ends open for proper vacuum relief. Apply sealant in TWO phases, to prevent dripping. Allow the first bead of sealant to cure for 1-2 hours. Flip the wand over and apply the second bead. Allow sealant to cure for 12-24 hours before use.
  • The glide can be removed occasionally for cleaning and servicing the wand by GENTLY prying the glide away from the wand lips with two stiff putty knives or wide flat screwdrivers applied front and back at one end of the wand. Use care not to damage the Teflon material. Ease the glide off, do not force it. Heating the wand and glide before removal is highly recommended, and makes the process easier and less damaging to the glide.
  • Frequently taking the glide on and off the wand will result in premature wear to the sealing surfaces.
  • The spray jet(s) on your wand may or may not be adjustable. If you can adjust the jet(s) to just skim the Teflon very low on the glide at the carpet/glide interface, it will optimize drying.

(Hammering or force fitting the Glide will void it’s warranty)
